About Awardship

Awardship is a small set of free calculators for the arithmetic that comes with running an awards program — pricing an engraving, sizing a medal order, timing a ceremony, or tallying a scorecard — plus a museum of the world’s major prizes and honors, built from public reference sources.

How the tools are built

None of the six tools on this site do anything mysterious. Each one takes numbers you already have and runs a specific, named calculation on them:

• Trophy Engraving Cost Calculatormultiplies the character count of your engraving text by your engraver’s quoted per-character rate, so you have a cost figure before you place the order.
• Award Budget Calculatormultiplies the number of recipients by the cost per award to produce a program total — the core line item in any recognition budget.
• Medal Quantity Calculatormultiplies the number of events in a competition by the placings each event awards, so you order enough medals and don’t come up short on the day.
• Ceremony Timeline Calculator adds the number of awards multiplied by minutes per presentation to a fixed opening block, and returns the running time in minutes and hours.
• Engraving Line Planner divides your total character count by how many characters fit on a line, so you know how many lines an inscription needs before it goes to the engraver.
• Award Scoring Calculatortallies each judge’s scores for a nominee into a total and an average, so a close call has a number attached to it.

That’s the whole method: multiplication, division, addition, and averaging, applied to figures — character counts, per-character rates, recipient counts, placings, minutes, characters-per-line, judge scores — that you type in yourself. There is no proprietary formula and no hidden data set behind any of it; an engraver or event coordinator working from a notepad or a spreadsheet would land on the same numbers. The tools just do the arithmetic faster and lay it out clearly.

What this is — and isn’t

Awardship is an independent, advertising-supported site. It is not affiliated with any engraving company, trophy manufacturer, judging body, or awards organization — including the Nobel Foundation, the Academy, or any other institution covered in the museum below. What the tools return are estimates built from whatever figures you enter; they are not vendor quotes. Actual prices, character limits, materials, and lead times vary by supplier, so confirm the real numbers with your engraver or vendor before you order anything. Treat every result here as planning support, not professional, legal, or financial advice.
